Georges, the one on Centre Pompidou's roof

Categories : Eating, published on : 4/28/15

The terrace: magic! On the roof of the Centre Pompidou, atop this extraordinary museum dedicated to contemporary art, the views of the capital’s most beautiful monuments is spectacular. Here we find the Georges restaurant and its immense terrace. Day or night, perched between the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, we can relish flavours that seem to hang suspended in the Parisian sky.

And on the plate: smoked salmon "Petrossian", foie gras sufficient for two, cooled scampi in a herb cocktail sauce, prawns in white anise butter, saint jacques sans coquilles juste poêlées; the menu is as much a romantic cliché as the view, but it is also just as delicious. So just for once, let’s be seduced! JR.
